KA-BOOOOOOOOOM!

Senate Bill 163 has just passed the Georgia Senate by a vote of 33-23 and is now on its way to the House!

The full details of SB-163 are below, but here is a brief recap.

Currently, Georgia mayors and county officials who violate our preemption law and pass gun control via local ordinance face virtually zero consequences -– a measly $100 fine.

That’s happening in Savannah RIGHT NOW after their Mayor passed a gun control ordinance aimed at law-abiding gun owners!

That’s why Senator Colton Moore agreed to file SB-163 for GGO: to create civil penalties of $50,000 and to create a process to allow any law-abiding gun owner to take these crooks to court!

Georgia Gun Owners has been working all session to get this bill through the first chamber, but it would never have happened without your calls and emails to your State Senators, telling them to get on board.

So for that, thank you.

But…there’s a long way to go in this process.

Now we must pass through a House Committee (likely Public Safety), then House Rules, then the full House of Representatives.

Considering how the House has been giving gun control hearings all session and not taking up any pro-gun bills, we know this is going to be a fight.

But we love to fight. And we know GGO members do, too! And that’s especially true with so many of us in the crosshairs of Radical Leftist mayors!

So now it’s time to crank on the House.

I’ve prepared a pre-written email for you to fire off to your State Representative, insisting that they publicly support and fight to advance SB-163 to the House Floor for a full vote as soon as possible.

It’s time Georgia Republicans got back into the business of fighting for gun owners and protecting our Second Amendment rights.

We’ve given them their majority for years. It’s time they use it or gun owners will find new Republicans who will!

The fight to pass SB-163 in the House is going to be twice as nasty as the fight to pass the Senate.
