Last week we told you that gubernatorial candidate Rick Jackson completed the Georgia Gun Owners candidate survey and scored 100% pro-gun.

Now we have another update.

Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger has also completed the GGO Gun Rights Candidate Survey — and he surveyed 100% pro-gun as well.

That means two candidates in the race for governor have now put their positions on gun rights in writing for gun owners to see.

And that’s exactly why Georgia Gun Owners runs our candidate survey program every election cycle.

You see, when election season rolls around, just about every politician suddenly claims to be a champion for the Second Amendment.

Campaign mailers start showing up. Speeches get made. Social media posts start appearing about how much they “support gun owners.”

But talk is cheap.

The purpose of the GGO Gun Rights Candidate Survey is simple: we ask candidates to tell gun owners exactly where they stand on the issues that matter most.

Do they support banning Red Flag gun confiscation?
Will they veto deadly safe storage laws?
Will they sign Enhanced Stand-Your-Ground into law?
Or do they secretly support gun control?

When candidates complete the survey, their answers are put in writing for gun owners across Georgia to see.

Because if a candidate won’t tell you where they stand when they’re asking for your vote, how do you think they’re going to behave once they get into office?

So far, two candidates for governor have stepped forward and completed the survey: Rick Jackson and Brad Raffensperger.

That brings us to the big question: Where is Burt Jones?

Burt Jones is running for governor too. And like the other candidates, he has been invited to complete the Georgia Gun Owners candidate survey.

But so far, we’re still waiting.

Gun owners deserve to know where every candidate stands on their rights before they head to the ballot box.

And that means every candidate should be willing to answer the same questions and put their views in writing.

Georgia remains at a crossroads.

Are Republican politicians going to fight for gun owners, or are they going to continue the pattern we’ve seen in Atlanta where gun owners are farmed for votes while real pro-gun legislation stalls?

Georgia Gun Owners will keep pressing every candidate in this race to answer the survey.

And when they do, we’ll report back to you.
