HB-1226 — Enhanced ‘Stand-Your-Ground’ — passed the House Judiciary (Non-Civil) Committee last night.
By ONE vote.
That razor-thin margin proves two things: your pressure is working — and the opposition is real and fighting back!
RINO Deborah Silcox voted with Anti-Gun Democrats against strengthening protections for Georgians who defend themselves.
There are only two reasons why she would do that. Either she is trying to appease Democrats to protect her seat — or she truly opposes stronger protections for innocent women and men forced to defend their lives.
Neither is acceptable.
(RINO Deborah Silcox can be seen here, voting with Democrats against passing HB-1226 on 2-25-26)
But during the meeting, the real heavies showed up.
DeKalb County District Attorney Sherry Boston showed up in person to oppose this bill. She is part of the growing network of big-city prosecutors who believe they should have unchecked power to drag citizens through the system.
Her political ally, Fani Willis, tried to prosecute Donald Trump just a couple years ago!

(DeKalb DA Sherry Boston can be seen on the far right in this recent AJC article.)
This is coordinated.
These prosecutors share strategy. They protect their leverage. And HB-1226 strips that leverage away by restoring the presumption of innocence, guaranteeing a prompt immunity hearing, and requiring probable cause before an arrest.
That is why they are fighting so hard to kill this bill!
Our insiders are telling us they’re working around the clock to stop HB-1226 from ever coming to the House floor.
But for now, we defeated them, and the bill heads to the House Rules Committee. That is where bills either move to the Floor — or quietly die.
We cannot let the pressure drop for even a second, and we must double down to counter these radical DA’s attacks!
FIRST — Take Action:
Send your PRE-WRITTEN email to the House Rules Committee and demand they put HB-1226 on the House Floor immediately.
>>> SEND YOUR NEXT EMAIL TO THE RULES COMMITTEE! <<<
This pre-written email system is fully automated. Simply enter your name and address (to verify you’re a real person from Georgia), and your message will be delivered instantly to the Committee.
Lawmakers pay close attention to these messages because they know they are coming from real voters and constituents.
And you can use the Send 3X feature to send multiple messages over several days for maximum impact!
SECOND — Lock In:
If we are going to push this bill through Rules and across the finish line, we must escalate the pressure. That means digital ads targeting key lawmakers (like Deborah Silcox and other RINOs like her). That means direct text message alerts. That means email broadcasting at scale.
Those tools create pressure.
Without them, the pressure stops — and this bill dies.
This fight is not abstract.
One day, it could be you, or your spouse, or daughter forced to defend themselves in a parking lot, in their home, or in a moment where hesitation means death.
In that moment, the one thing you’ll care about is whether the law protects innocent people or gives prosecutors the power to ruin lives first and sort it out later.
HB-1226 strengthens those protections. But it will only move if we apply overwhelming, sustained pressure right now.
If we do not fight for these protections now, we may not have them when our own family needs them most.
