Moments ago, the gavel fell here in Atlanta, officially opening the 2026 legislative session in Georgia.

And we’re starting the year off with a message to the gun control crowd: House Republicans may be weak, but gun owners are not. Anyone who tries to move gun control this session will get lit up in session and again in the midterms.

Thanks to GGO members, Georgia is a strong, pro-gun state.

But the Democrats today are crazed, feeding off the fact that our legislature hasn’t passed a gun bill since 2022!

This session, the Left is coming out swinging. They hope a combination of GOP AND gun owner apathy will make it possible for them to move gun control.

But while some gun owners may not be paying attention, GGO members damn sure are…and we’re going to shut these bills down.

At a minimum, we’ll be dealing with three priority bills from the Democrats this session. They are:  

1. Mandatory Waiting Periods on Gun Purchases (HB-4)
2. Expanded “Gun Free Zones” Across Georgia (HB-472)
3. Deadly “Safe Storage” Mandates (HB-1)

So while we continue working to advance our pro-gun agenda this session, I’m also counting on you to help us CRUSH these gun-control bills before they gain momentum.
