Session is coming fast in Atlanta, and the Democrats are going all-in on passing the most dangerous gun control bill Georgia has ever seen.
I’m talking about HB-1, a statewide “Safe Storage” mandate designed to make it illegal for you to keep a loaded, accessible firearm in your own home.
HB-1 would force you and me to lock up our guns 24 hours a day, unloaded, disabled, and out of reach, unless the firearm is physically on your body at that moment.
If you don’t comply, you could face criminal charges.
This isn’t “safety.” This isn’t “responsibility.”
This is forced helplessness, written into law.

To understand how dangerous this bill is, imagine this:
It’s 3:00 a.m. You’re jolted awake by the sound of shattering glass. Someone is inside your home. Your spouse grabs the phone to call 911 — but depending on where you live, police may be twenty or thirty minutes away.
Under current law, you grab the loaded firearm from your nightstand and take care of your family.
But under HB-1?
You can’t.
Your firearm must be locked up.
It must be unloaded.
It must be inaccessible.
You must remember the combination, open the safe in the dark, retrieve an empty firearm, find ammunition, load it, and hope you can defend your family before the intruder reaches your bedroom door.
If you fail — if you or your family are beaten, robbed, r@ped, or murdered — that’s a “price” the radical left is perfectly willing for you to pay.
And don’t forget: these are the SAME people who defended riots, attacked the police, funded criminals, and cheered when violent offenders were dumped back onto Georgia streets.
They’ve created the crime wave — and now their answer is to disarm the victims.

But here’s the political reality: Georgia Republicans haven’t passed a gun bill in almost four years.
The GOP is terrified of the media.
The Democrats smell weakness.
And gun owners are less engaged because we’re not in a Presidential election year.
