Last Tuesday night, GGO Nation delivered a political beating that the Republican establishment will not soon forget.
For months, the same politicians who have spent years blocking gun bills in Atlanta assumed they could ignore gun owners during session — but still count on our votes during the primary.
Georgia Gun Owners had other plans.
Ever since the legislative session ended, GGO has been working nonstop to educate gun owners about the records of candidates running in the statewide runoff elections.
Through our survey program, digital ads, texting campaigns, email alerts, and video reports, we worked to separate the candidates who would fight for the Second Amendment from the candidates who merely wanted to campaign on it.
And when the runoff election took place last Tuesday, gun owners delivered an epic a$$ beating!
The Governor’s Race
The biggest prize on the ballot was the Governor’s race.
Everyone lined up behind Burt Jones from the very beginning. Governor Brian Kemp traveled the state campaigning for him. President Trump endorsed him and conducted multiple tele-town halls on his behalf. He had a lot of name ID.
But there was one problem.
Gun owners knew that while Burt Jones had spent years talking about gun rights, he had done ALMOST NOTHING to advance them.
Gun owners also knew that Rick Jackson completed his Georgia Gun Owners Candidate Survey with a 100% pro-gun rating and publicly pledged to fight for our freedoms.
GGO made sure gun owners knew the difference through our digital, text, and email programs.
And late Tuesday, Rick Jackson defeated Burt Jones by five points.

The US Senate Race
Derek Dooley wanted the support of gun owners, but when Georgia Gun Owners asked him to complete our Gun Rights Candidate Survey, he refused.
But Mike Collins is a brawler for gun rights. Collins surveyed 100% with GGO and backed it up with a record of cosponsoring major pro-gun legislation in Congress — including efforts to Abolish the ATF and Repealing the NFA.
Again, the establishment (including Brian Kemp) went all in.
Again, GGO made sure gun owners knew the facts.
And again, gun owners were not happy.
On election night, Mike Collins crushed Derek Dooley by eleven points.
The Lt. Governor Race
For months, GGO members worked to expose John Kennedy’s record while highlighting Senator Greg Dolezal’s 100% pro-gun survey and commitment to defending the Second Amendment.
Once again, the contrast could not have been clearer. Once again, gun owners took action. Dolezal won by nine points.
Taken together, these results tell a story that every politician in Georgia should pay attention to.
This wasn’t one upset.
This was a statewide rejection of Republican politicians who think they can take gun owners for granted. If you bury bills, water them down, aid the Democrats, and then run for statewide office — GGO members are going to have the last word.
On the flipside, if you will fight for the Second Amendment, gun owners will stand with you.
That’s exactly what Georgia Gun Owners was built to do.
And that’s exactly what our members love to do.
Keisha Lance Bottoms
With the runoff election behind us, we all know what comes next.
Keisha Lance Bottoms is a slimmer and nastier version of Stacey Abrams. We’ve already saw what she did as Mayor of Atlanta. Now, she wants to attack our gun rights statewide.
Make no mistake, Keisha Bottoms has the most aggressive gun control agenda of any candidate in Georgia politics.
Here’s what Bottoms wants to do to our gun rights:
>>> An immediate push to repeal the Constitutional Carry law that GGO members passed into law in 2022; meaning gun owners would need to get government permission to carry again.
>>> A complete reversal of Georgia’s Stand-Your-Ground law; the Democrats want this done fast. They want the ability to put us in prison for the crime of self-defense. This is real.
 >>> The end of private firearms sales. Bottoms would make this a crime, and require universal background checks. The goal of this is to register every gun sale in the State of Georgia.
>>> A complete ban on the sale of AR-15s and hundreds of similar rifles. Sure, she would promise a ‘grandfather clause.’ But they would move to repeal that, just like Maine is doing.
>>> A statewide ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ law. This would allow anyone to claim that you’re ‘dangerous,’ enabling liberal judges to seize your firearms through secret hearings.
>>> A push for ammo registration. This is moving fast in blue states across the country. Bottoms would register every round of ammo that you buy.
That’s why Georgia Gun Owners is gearing up for the biggest fight of our lives. And I’ll be very honest; we need your help. GGO spent heavy during session, and again during the primaries.
GOP consultant ads are weak; they don’t move the needle.
GGO ads — on the other hand — are brutally effective.
You’ve seen that time and time again. The pressure from these ads is how we passed Constitutional Carry. It’s how we put pre-emption reform on Brian Kemp’s desk. It’s how we’ve exposed dozens of RINOs and Democrats at election time.
Now we need to do it again.
We need money for digital ads.
We need money for CTV ads (Apple TV, Roku, etc.)
We need money for our email and texting program.Â
And we need this now.
The DNC has already selected Georgia as a likely pick-up state when it comes to the Governor’s race.
The possibility of also seizing control of the Georgia House cemented their decision to spend heavily here.
