Ever since the Brett Kavanaugh hearings in 2018, the leftists who want to turn this great nation into a socialist hellhole have made bogus legal threats and ‘cancel culture’ tactics a part of their standard arsenal.
But when Joe Biden moved into the White House and filled the Department of Justice with hard-left political operatives who exist to silence opposition — not fight for justice — the weaponization of our legal system has begun to SKYROCKET!
I can’t say that I am surprised.
Afterall, over the years, Georgia Gun Owners has been hit with countless threatened and real legal attacks that were designed to close our doors forever.
Not long ago, State Senator Jen Jordon threatened to use her legal connections to try to get the IRS to revoke GGO’s 501c4 non-profit status — all because we were relentless at exposing her support for radical gun control in Atlanta.
When Georgia Gun Owners members gave Stacey Abrams the political beating of her lifetime during the last Gubernatorial election cycle (because she HATES gun owners and HATES the Second Amendment) we were threatened with multiple civil lawsuits, in a vain effort to shut us up.
And last year, the Southern Poverty Law Center attacked us, trying to label organizations like GGO as ‘hate groups,’ because we stand up for freedom and against the Socialists who want to destroy this great nation!
But I’m afraid that all the attacks we have fought in the past will be nothing compared to what may be coming at us!
But first, I want to give you some context on what we are facing.
When the entire Democrat machine descended onto Georgia last fall and flipped (honestly or by deceit) both of our U.S. Senate seats blue, the gun-grabbers in Atlanta cheered wildly.
They assumed that gun owners would be completely demoralized, and that their goal of passing radical gun control would finally be in reach. And boy did they try!
Just a handful of the bills that GGO members had to block in the legislature included:
>>> Senate Bill 135, legislation that would have repealed Georgia’s all-important Stand-Your-Ground law.
If we lost S.B. 135, gun owners like you and me would be forced to retreat when confronted by a violent criminal. And if we dared defend ourselves without retreating, we would be the ones headed to prison!
>>> Senate Bill 309/House Bill 784, legislation that would have mandated waiting periods before you could buy a firearm.
Imagine being told that you must wait three days to buy a firearm as a violent mob rioted and burned their way closer to your neighborhood last Spring. That’s insane! But this legislation would make YOU the criminal for buying a gun without waiting three days first!
>>> House Bill 309, legislation that would enact ‘Red Flag Gun Seizure’ laws here in Georgia.
This legislation would allow you to be disarmed by a liberal judge, who has never met you, but listened to testimony given against you in a secret court proceeding that you were not allowed to attend!
>>> Senate Bill 179, legislation that would create a statewide registry of every gun owner in Georgia.
Selling a gun to your best friend, or giving a family rifle to your favorite nephew, would be a criminal offense in Georgia if this legislation passed. What’s more, the government would have a list of every gun owner in Georgia!
Watching their entire gun control agenda get destroyed by GGO members has enraged the gun control crowd in Atlanta. They know that time is not on their side. And that’s why I expect them to launch a bogus legal attack on us at any moment -– they are desperate to shut us down in advance of the 2022 session!
It doesn’t matter that Georgia Gun Owners plays by the rules. And it doesn’t matter that we don’t break the law, bend the law, or even skirt the law like the Bloomberg funded gun-control organizations do year after year.
This has nothing to do with right and wrong.
This is nothing more than a political attack against the organization that has stopped gun control dead in its tracks again this year, while leading the fight for Constitutional Carry!
But just because this is a political hatchet job, doesn’t mean that this is something we can take lightly.
The reality is that defending ourselves against these attacks chews up valuable time and donor dollars, resources that I would much sooner put to blocking gun control, and our fight to make Georgia the next Constitutional Carry state!
With five states passing Constitutional Carry law this year alone, pressure is at an all-time high on Governor Kemp to keep his campaign promise and make Georgia a Constitutional Carry state next session.
So on one hand, I want to throw ALL of GGO’s political muscle behind passing this crucial legislation next year, to finally finish this fight!
But if some slick lawyer funded by Giffords Law Center or Everytown for Gun Safety drops a lawsuit on us (or even tries to silence us through a bogus ethic complaint in the legislature) I simply won’t have the budget to deal with that and fight for Constitutional Carry.
That’s why I’m asking you to tell me what to do:
OPTION #1: Should I ignore the likelihood of a legal assault on Georgia Gun Owners, hope for the best, and put all of our resources into passing Constitutional Carry?
OPTION #2: Should I just give in to the threats that will likely come from these gun-grabbers, put our Constitutional Carry program on pause, and focus our resources on defending against these legal threats?
OPTION #3: Or should I FIGHT BACK on all fronts and FIGHT LIKE HELL FOR CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY while also preparing to defend ourselves from any legal attack head on?
I know what I want to do. I want to push for Constitutional Carry with everything we’ve got next session, while we have the votes to pass this bill into law!
But we don’t have millions of dollars sitting around in the bank like BILLIONAIRE Michael Bloomberg and his pals do, and this organization isn’t funded by a mega-donor.
Georgia Gun Owners is funded by grassroots gun owners from Valdosta to Blue Ridge and everywhere in between, ferocious defenders of freedom who know that our children and grandchildren are counting on us to hold the line for them!
But you should know that OPTION #3 just really isn’t an “option” without a massive and IMMEDIATE influx of funds from Georgia Gun Owners’ members and supporters.
I know that’s asking a lot, but there’s no guarantee that we’ll have the votes to pass Constitutional Carry law forever. And if Stacey Abrams gets elected next fall, we can kiss our chances goodbye!
This legal attack could land at my door at any moment, and we can’t afford to be caught flat footed. I need to hear from you right away!
