Georgia General Assembly Cancelled

Dear Georgia Gun Owner,

An announcement was made yesterday that the General Assembly would be cancelled — at least in the short term — because of coronavirus fears.

Georgia’s Constitution mandates a 40 day legislative session … and this year, there are still 12 days remaining.

They will need to finish the legislative session, but as of this writing, no one knows when that will be.

Most troubling for gun owners is that Republican leadership in the General Assembly is still blocking / refusing to move Constitutional Carry.

With the closures caused by the coronavirus, imagine if your local county government, namely your county probate court, shut down … probate courts issue the “Weapon License” across the state.

If you are currently in the process of applying or want to get a weapons license, you would not be able to do so … and your Second Amendment rights would be denied.

This is why Georgia needs Constitutional Carry, and why the members and supporters of Georgia Gun Owners need to continue pressuring legislators to pass Constitutional Carry when they return to finish the legislative session!

Keep in mind that for the last decade, the establishment gun lobby has worked behind the scenes to stop “Constitutional Carry,” telling legislators that Georgia “isn’t ready yet.”

Well, I can tell you that Georgia is ready, and we need it now …

Please keep up the heat non-stop until the end of session!

If you’ve yet to do so, please get involved with Georgia Gun Owners as soon as you can …
