Where should we fight?

With the 2018 session of the Georgia General Assembly having just kicked off, I’m working virtually non stop putting the finishing touches on Georgia Gun Owners’ program strategy for this year.

But there’s something I have to tell you.

After the tragedies in Las Vegas, Nevada and Sutherland Springs, Texas in recent months, I’m afraid my hopes of focusing solely on passing Constitutional Carry is out the window.

Sensing that the political winds will be blowing their way in the 2018 election year, gun-grabbers in the Georgia General Assembly are going to look for every opportunity to push gun control in the coming session.

And with fears growing that Georgia’s changing demographics will send our state falling into Democrat hands like a ripe peach, national anti-gun groups are poised to pour MILLIONS of outside money into our state.

That’s why I’m facing an incredibly tough decision today — perhaps the toughest I’ve ever had to make since the creation of Georgia Gun Owners, in fact.

So I need your advice.

As you’ll see, I’ve included your special 2018 Georgia Gun Owners Membership Ballot with this email.

I’m counting on you to fill it out right away.

The truth is, without an IMMEDIATE influx of funds, I’m afraid I’m going to have to make major cuts in our 2018 programs.

Believe me, there’s nothing I would hate worse — especially with so much at stake.

But with BILLIONAIRE gun-grabbers like Michael Bloomberg and their pals in the media taking every opportunity to drive up anti-gun hysteria every chance they get, you and I have to stay on red alert.

Especially after the Las Vegas and Sutherland Springs murders, even just one more shooting rampage by a madman or ISIS wannabe could be enough to tip the scales for any one of the gun-grabbers’ “innocent-sounding” Second Amendment assaults, including:

*** Rep. Mary Margaret Oliver’s statewide so-called “Assault Weapons” Ban.  This draconian legislation, which has already been introduced, would ban certain firearms simply because of cosmetic features that politicians in Atlanta think “look scary.”

This will include dozens of specifically named rifles (even those often used for hunting), pistols and shotguns — including everything from Colt AR-15’s to certain Sig Sauer pistols.

If passed, you’d have to choose between destroying your firearms, or having them CONFISCATED by the state of Georgia!

*** A so-called “Bump Stock Ban.”  Even though the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (BATFE) rightly noted they DO NOT allow a semi-automatic rifle to become fully automatic — or even allow the shooter to fire off rounds faster — these gun accessories have become widely demonized in the media.

If banned, it would open the door to other bans on gun accessories like scopes and magazines;

*** So-called “Universal Background Checks,” which is nothing more than code for STATEWIDE GUN REGISTRATION.  There’s no way such a scheme can be enforced without tracking every gun and gun owner in the state!

Of course, gun-grabbers continue to claim “90% public support” for this scheme that’s supposed to protect us all from the next killer.

But remember, it was the national check system’s failure that allowed the Texas killer to purchase the firearm he shouldn’t have been allowed to own!

If any of these gun-grabs start to gain traction, it would be nothing short of a DISASTER.

So if you think standing up to the gun-grabbers’ gun control schemes is most important, please mark “DEFEND AGAINST ANTI-GUN ATTACKS” on your Membership Ballot.

But before you do, please consider that sometimes the best defense is a good offense . . .

And you and I have a strong opportunity right now to take advantage of the pro-gun majorities in Atlanta and make Constitutional Carry a reality in Georgia.

If passed, the Georgia Constitutional Carry Bill would restore the right of every law-abiding Georgia citizen to carry a gun to protect themselves and their families — WITHOUT going through a bunch of bureaucratic rigmarole!

That means no more expensive application fees, endless paperwork or adding your name to a government database — just to exercise your Second Amendment right to keep and bear arms.

In short, if you’re legally able to own a firearm, you’re legally able to carry it.  Period.

Frankly, it’s the best and perhaps only solution to stopping killers and madmen.

The truth is, just the threat of running into someone who is armed is enough to convince many career criminals to think twice.

So Constitutional Carry will most assuredly mean more law-abiding citizens carrying firearms.

It won’t be long until violent crime rates start sinking across Georgia like a rock.

In fact, according to a recent FBI “Crime in the United States” report, gun sales have hit record highs in recent years while violent crime has dropped dramatically!

And a study commissioned by the Obama administration — which was supposed to generate momentum for gun control — found that firearms are used in defensive cases up to three million times per year!

This is the way it’s been done in Vermont, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona and Wyoming for some time.

And just in the past two years, Constitutional Carry has passed in Kansas, Maine, Idaho, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, New Hampshire and West Virginia.

There’s no reason it can’t happen here.

So if you think passing this critical legislation should be Georgia Gun Owners’ top priority, please mark “FIGHT TO PASS CONSTITUTIONAL CARRY” on your Membership Ballot.

But before you do, please don’t forget that 2018 is an absolutely critical election year.

Gun-grabbers in Georgia are desperate to make inroads this election year by electing an anti-gun Governor, picking up seats in our General Assembly and get to work turning Georgia into an anti-gun utopia like California, Massachusetts and New York.

Across the country, virtually everyone — from anti-gun media elites to political “experts” — claim the Gun Control Lobby has the momentum.

That’s why I’m preparing to run a MASSIVE election year program in 2018.

My goal is to go on the attack ahead of both the 2018 primaries and General Election to ensure that every anti-gun candidate for Governor and our General Assembly in BOTH parties is exposed.

I’ll use every tool at my disposal from mail and email, to social media, to hard-hitting radio, newspaper and even TV ads if I can raise the resources.

Such a program is going to be very expensive.

But it could not be more important — not with BILLIONAIRE gun-grabbers like Michael Bloomberg and George Soros looking for southern states like Georgia they can jump into with both feet.

So if you think holding the gun-grabbers accountable in 2018 should be my top priority, please mark “EXPOSE THE GUN-GRABBERS” on your Membership Ballot.

I’m sure you can see why I’m so torn today — and why I can’t decide where I should seek to focus budget cuts should they become necessary.

The truth is, every option makes my stomach churn.

Perhaps you think stopping the gun-grabbers’ assaults is most important.

Perhaps you believe it’s worth the risk to hope that it takes care of itself and we should focus on Constitutional Carry.

Or perhaps — with our Governor’s race up for grabs — you believe concentrating on the 2018 elections should be Georgia Gun Owners’ top priority.

Whatever you decide, please mark your selection on your Membership Ballot.

And please agree to rush your most generous contribution to help cover the costs of these critical programs.

Of course, there is one more option.

It’s an option I’ve yet to mention because it will not — under any circumstances — be possible without a massive influx of resources.

Nevertheless, it is the option I hope and pray you’ll choose.

That’s “FIGHT EVERYWHERE: DON’T GIVE AN INCH!!!”

But if you pick this option, please realize I’m going to need your most generous support — as much or even more than what you’ve been able to do in the past.

With the General Assembly back into session, I don’t have a moment to waste.

So please fill out your Membership Ballot and include your most generous contribution of whatever you can afford today!
