Welcome to the 2026 Georgia Gun Owners Survey Results page for the Republican Primary Election to be held on May 19th.
Below you will find every completed survey that we have received from the candidates running in this election.
If a candidate running for this seat is not listed here, they did not complete and return their survey to Georgia Gun Owners.
You can sort this data by candidate’s name to find the answers to the survey questions that we’ve listed below. You will even see a link to each candidate’s completed survey, so you can see their answers for yourself!
(NOTE: just because a candidate is listed here does not necessarily mean they answered 100% pro-gun! Be sure to check the candidate’s responses to each and every question on their survey.)
If you have questions or concerns about the survey data, please contact us at: [email protected].
Question 1
In the wake of recent high-profile murder sprees around the country, anti-gun politicians here in Georgia, the media and Bloomberg-funded activists in Atlanta have been demanding a complete ban on the AR-15 (and standard 30-round magazines) and hundreds of related firearms all because of their cosmetic features. These firearms are wildly popular and are owned by tens of thousands of Georgians.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO any legislation that bans the manufacture, sale or possession of semi-automatic firearms and their standard capacity magazines knowing that these restrictions don’t stop crime, but are used to harass gun owners?
Question 2
Anti-gun politicians in Atlanta continue to introduce legislation like SB-92, which would institute ‘Red Flag Gun Seizures’ here in Georgia. Also known as ‘Extreme Risk Protection Orders,’ these laws allow virtually anyone to petition a court and make the claim that a person is a ‘danger to themselves or others’ while providing little to no evidence. Once filed, ‘Red Flag’ allegations allow a liberal judge to strip a law-abiding gun owner of his firearms before he has been arrested, indicted, or convicted of a crime. In most cases, this is done through ex-parte hearings that the gun owner knows nothing about.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO ‘Red Flag Gun Confiscation’ laws (or similar legislation) that would shred Georgian’s due process rights, by disarming gun owners who have never been convicted of a crime?
Question 3
Anti-gun organizations, often funded with out-of-state resources from Michael Bloomberg, have been pushing legislation like HB-3 for years. If passed, this would end all private party firearms transfers in Georgia unless gun owners submit to a federal NCIC check, thereby adding themselves and their firearm to a federal list. As we’ve seen, this legislation does virtually nothing to stop crime but expands state and national databases of gun owners – which can be used against gun owners later.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on ‘Universal Gun Registrations’ (or similar legislation) that would ban all private party gun sales and make criminals out of Georgians who lawfully transfer firearms without first obtaining government permission?
Question 4
Over the last several years, anti-gun politicians in Atlanta have pushed legislation like SB-19 that would impose a mandatory 10-day waiting period on firearm purchases. These delays leave law-abiding citizens defenseless when they need to protect themselves the most, while doing nothing to stop criminals. Waiting periods have been proven to cost innocent lives by preventing victims from acquiring a firearm during times of immediate danger, such as after receiving threats from an abusive partner or violent criminal.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation like SB-19 that forces a mandatory 10-day waiting period on firearm purchases, leaving law-abiding Georgians defenseless while criminals ignore the law?
Question 5
Various state legislatures have passed legislation that would criminalize gun owners who do not keep their firearms under lock and key, giving criminals the advantage. The Radical Left has been trying to pass the same legislation here in Georgia with HB-1. To be clear, these deadly “Safe Storage” laws do nothing to deter violent criminals and instead get innocent citizens raped or murdered.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that would force Georgians to keep their guns in a government-approved storage device, leaving them unable to defend themselves or their loved ones in an emergency?
Question 6
Democrats in Atlanta have filed HB-64 which would force gun owners to purchase civil liability insurance as a condition of owning certain firearms. This is blatantly unconstitutional, a violation of the Supreme Court’s Bruen decision, and would do absolutely nothing to stop the murderers, rapists, home invaders, and armed robbers that are attacking innocent Georgians.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that forces gun owners to obtain liability insurance as a condition of possessing, transporting, or carrying firearms?
Question 7
Over the last four years, an estimated 7,500,000 million people have illegally entered America. The Dept. of Homeland Security said that at least 70,000 of these were ‘special interest’ aliens, coming from countries that ‘promote or protect terrorism’ against the United States. Now, some are trying to use the Bruen decision to justify letting these foreign nationals possess firearms.
If elected, would you OPPOSE and VOTE NO on legislation that would allow for foreign nationals who have entered America illegally to possess a firearm, knowing that they’ll be able to legally buy a firearm once they’ve completed the process for entry?
Question 8
Georgia law allows innocent citizens to defend themselves, but under current law, people who lawfully use force in self-defense can still be arrested, jailed, and charged with serious crimes before a court ever determines whether the shooting was justified. SB-572, the Enhanced ‘Stand-Your-Ground’ Act, would strengthen Georgia law by requiring probable cause before arrest in a self-defense case and by restoring the presumption of innocence for citizens who are forced to defend themselves from violent criminals. Without these protections, innocent Georgians can lose their freedom, their savings, and their reputation even when they did nothing wrong.
If elected, would SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation like SB-572, the Enhanced ‘Stand-Your-Ground’ Act, which protects innocent Georgians from being arrested or prosecuted without probable cause after a lawful act of self-defense?
Question 9
Most mass shootings happen in so-called ‘Gun-Free Zones’ where law-abiding citizens are forced to disarm. Thousands of Americans have been shot or murdered by violent criminals in these zones over the last fifteen years, because law-abiding citizens were unable to defend themselves or their loved ones, because of a deadly law that forced them to disarm.
If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on any legislation that eliminates government-mandated ‘Gun Free Zones,’ that leave law-abiding citizens helpless against violent killers looking to rack up a body count?
Question 10
The next Democratic President will attack gun owners with the full power of the federal government, using executive orders, bureaucratic attacks, and legislation. But the federal government relies on state and local cops to enforce their laws. In response to this, some states have passed the Second Amendment Preservation Act (SAPA) which instructs peace officers to only enforce the gun laws of their state. And if a Democrat-run city violates SAPA, SAPA allows that department to be sued for civil damages. SAPA protects gun owners from a Leftist President, and our police from being ordered to violate their oath of office.
If elected, would you SUPPORT and VOTE YES on legislation like SB-67/HB-121 which states that Georgia cops may not be used by the federal government to enforce federal gun control laws or Executive Orders, and which contain civil penalties that allow gun owners to hold rogue departments who break the law accountable?
